"The Beat Of My Broken Heart" is the title of
the heart art. I was going through some
rough times in my life professionally and
personal. I had been stressed out about a lot of
things and
not really taking care of myself as needed.
Concerned about my health, I went to see a
doctor. The doctor recommended I slow down and
change a few of my habits or I would have a
heart attack. Needless to say that scared me a
little. Of course I came home and started to do
some research on heart related issues.
When I started to read about the heart and
how it worked I was blown away. The heart is
literally a machine pumping fluid in and out.
Perfectly timed, opening valves and closing them
like Miles Davis playing his trumpet to the beat
of music. That’s what motivated me to do the
heart piece.
When I originally designed it I was going to
make it look like a real heart but not too many
people know what a real heart looks like and to
be honest with you, a real heart is ugly. I had
to make it so that every one who saw it would
and could relate to it in one way or another. I
think I accomplished what I set out to do."
