"Astrological
Clock" "Why do we rotate around the sun? What’s the attraction?
My Astrological Clock is a simple map of our solar system. And like our universe, every element of the piece is precisely placed for a reason, from the horoscope glyphs to the planets, the colorful nebula to the sun at the center. Everything has a meaning, carefully set on its own orbital track.
| A little more info regarding
the Astrological Clock: 1. It does not tell the time
2. The symbols around the edge of the clock are called Glyphs. Each Glyph represent the Zodiac that its placed in front of.
3. The half balls represent the inner planets closest to the Sun, starting with the blue one as Earth. The half black and silver ball is the Moon. The reason its half black is because in reality only one side of the moon gets light because it faces the Sun. This is how the moon looks from earth and how we get our different phases of the moon, full moon, half moon etc. The Variegated leafed ball is the planet Venus which is the second planet closest to the Sun. The silver ball closest to the sun is the planet Mercury which is the closest planet to the Sun. Of course the Sun is obvious.

4. You will notice grooves in the plexi glass going through each planet, that represent the orbital track that each planet takes around the Sun.
5. The different colored edges in the glass could be referred to as Nebula or gasses in space.
6. The zodiac symbols would represent the star constellation as viewed from Earth.
7. On some editions of the Astrological clock, you will notice the numbers 1-12 and 1-12 around the clocks frame. These were put there because there was a time when my Astrological clocks actually told the time in 24 hours. I no longer make them functional clocks so they are there for cosmetic reasons. |
